Three Months to Change

Paperback & ebook, 208 Pages

Lenora was changing…not in any frightening way. At least, not at first. There was the intense ability to shield herself from abuse that was very empowering. But her other senses had become heightened as well, and that’s when she’d begun seeing scenes from the past, and smoky mists inside her home.
Meeting Frankie in the midst of all this had been a wonderful treat—there weren’t many men who could stir her emotions as he was prone to do. Still, there was something strange about him, something she couldn’t put her finger on. Ah, well, desirable men with the air of mystery were compelling and fun. Weren’t they?
And what about Rex? She wasn’t sure. He was part of a fearsome family, making her wonder if such tales of werewolves and monsters were true. Just how did she fit in? And why would she even want to?
All she kept hearing, however, was that there were only a precious three months before a full change. Time was awastin’.
Hey everyone! I’d like to welcome Dinah Roseberry to the Blog! Thanks so much for being on this tour. I have not done a guest posting for an author before, and thought I’d change it up with a guest posting by Dinah herself. Get to know a little about Dinah below!
Three Months to Change and the Fabulous Writing Light Beings!
By Dinah Roseberry
I’ve been writing fiction for as long as I can remember—some of it good and some of it (especially when I was learning the ropes) not so much. It was around 2006, however, that I realized that while I was writing a nonfiction ghost book, my words were coming from a source outside myself. I even had to look up a word used in the dictionary one morning when I was creating the introduction to a book! Researching what was happening to me through the ghost-hunting people I knew, I found that I was actually channeling Light Beings. What are Light Beings? You may ask. Well…I don’t really know! Some people tell me they are angels. Others say they are aliens. Now I wonder that they might originate in the multiverse.
Writing Three Months to Change
So when I began to write Three Months to Change, I had some help! There are times looking back when I don’t even remember writing some of it! It came from this other source, you see. And what a joy—and jolt—it is to write this way. I find that the main idea is planted on the page from this source, and then I go back and massage it into an appropriately written piece. It never amazes me how fabulous it sounds to my ears as I read it back. Even knowing about these Light Beings, I always ask myself: Who could have written this? It’s too good for it to have been me! It’s like I’m reading something that someone else wrote. Now, I’m not saying that the entire book is written this way. It’s not. Oftentimes, I would just sit down and write and write—me, not someone else. Then I’d marry the shards.
One of the things I do to help this process is to always leave the manuscript open on my computer. I do have a day job—I’m a nonfiction editor for a paranormal line at a niche publishing company—so I don’t have access to it for about ten hours in a day, but outside that, and especially on weekends, it’s not a surprise to see me writing things one paragraph at a time. (Does anyone do that?! It’s a crazy way to write.)
About the Heroine
When my heroine, Lenora, for Three Months to Change came into being, she was just “there” in my brain, and she began to develop and grow—this was me and not the Light Beings. And to be honest, she’s still there and still talking and looking exactly like my daughter, who you see on the cover! I’m writing a new book now and Lenora often pops in even though that project is complete: What would Lenora do? This is one of my favorite things about writing: The characters coming to life feel so real, and they stay with you like part of your family and friends (and enemies!). They have life. There’s been a birth.
So. The Light Beings and I would love to invite you to grab a copy of Three Months to Change—I don’t think you’ll be sorry. Seriously! And I do think that the characters will stay with you, too.
