I received this book from Xpresso Tours, through NetGalley, in order to give you my review. This post contains affiliate links. Clicking on these links doesn’t cost you a single penny extra, but it helps me to keep Coffee Books and Cakes running, so I appreciate it greatly!
It was a lot of fun reading this book. It’s a middle school age book that I know my youngest would actually read. It’s not just that its easy to read, but also told in POV of a 7th grader named Lily. I could actually feel the emotions Lily was going through with her on again and off again feud with her step-sister. Prank wars anyone?
I also loved the fact that she likes to bake with her mom in person or by way of video chatting. I’ve got a lot of apple pie recipes running around in my head now. Maybe there will be a Cranberry and Apple Pie Recipe in the future. Lily mentions this combination in the book when talking about the different kinds of flavor combinations.
I would recommend this book to my daughter’s school. I’m not sure if they do Author spotlight/events anymore but I know they would be interested in hearing about this book.
